While slip and fall accidents at Home Depot are the most common; there are many other accidents that take place at Home Depot from falling merchandise to forklift incidents to dog bites to truck accidentsThe one thing all these accidents have in common is that they are due to the fault of Home Depot in the ownership, operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the store. Likewise, these accidents happen when Home Depot and/or its employees fail to make customer safety a priority and/or disregard policies/procedures to the detriment of its customers.

According to the Complaint, the contractor, Rose Paving, who restriped and painted the crosswalks on behalf of Home Depot, failed to use non-skid slip-resistant paint and/or failed to use enough grit in the non-skid paint to prevent falls when wet. Home Depot knew or should have known of the hazardous slippery condition caused by painting the crosswalks with non-slip resistant paint, but according to Mr. Levy failed to warn customers or take any steps to avoid the serious risk of injury that resulted.
